Rich Academic and Cultural Exchanges, Beautiful Campus Environment, Laying the Foundation for Future Careers
August 24, 2024, Dalarna University, Sweden-- Software Engineering students from Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) arrived at Dalarna University in Sweden for a one-year study. During this time, the students not only gained valuable academic experience, but also experienced in-depth the unique culture and campus life inSweden.
Upon arrival at Dalarna, Mr. William Song Wei and Mr. Par from Dalarna University personally met the students at the train station and took a photo with them, leaving a wonderful memory of this important moment.
On August 30th, the school held a “Welcome Day” for newly arrived international students, starting with a presentation to help students understand the background of the Dalarna region, the history and characteristics of the University of Dalarna, and how to make quick use of the school's various facilities, such as the library, café, and so on, to enhance the efficiency of their studies.
After the presentation, a series of interactive activities were arranged to help international students quickly adapt to the new environment and integrate into campus life. These activities not only allowed the students to get to know each other better, but also created the conditions for them to build cross-cultural friendships.
Dalarna University has a beautiful campus with a great learning atmosphere. Well-equipped with a modern library, cozy cafes and spacious lounge areas, the university provides an ideal place for students to study and relax. Students can not only focus on their studies here, but also enjoy a quality campus life.
Academically, students are enrolled in the Business Intelligence course, which utilizes a group discussion format that encourages students to express their opinions in class. This format promotes teamwork and critical thinking. Dalarna University emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, and students further consolidate their knowledge through several projects related to real-life business problems.
The students shared, “Dalarna University has a very open learning atmosphere, and the university provides us with abundant learning resources and a comfortable learning environment. The library and cafeteria are very well equipped to fulfill academic needs as well as allowing us to relax and recharge after school hours.” He also mentioned that the school's group discussion and cooperative learning model made the classroom interactive and helped him improve his ability to collaborate with classmates from different cultural backgrounds.
The study abroad experience not only benefited the student academically, but also provided a rare opportunity for his personal development. In the future, the plan is to apply the knowledge and skills learned in his career to further his personal and professional growth.
