Swedish Professor Yves Rybarczyk Shares Insights on Machine Learning Applications in Air QualityPrediction
The School of Software and Internet of Things Engineering at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics had the honor of hosting Professor Yves Rybarczyk for the inaugural Shangxin Lecture of 2024. The academic lecture, titled "Machine Learning for Air Quality Prediction," took place on May 15th at 2:30 PM in the H202 conference room of theSchool.
Professor Yves Rybarczyk, who holds a Ph.D. in Robotics from the University of Evry, France, has a strong focus on artificial intelligence and human-machine interaction in his teaching and research activities. From 2007 to 2015, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Nova University of Lisbon. He then moved to South America, where he held the position of Associate Professor and Head of the Intelligent & Interactive Systems Lab at Universidad de Las Américas until 2019. Currently, he is a Full Professor of Data Analytics at Dalarna University in Sweden. Professor Rybarczyk has been involved in numerous projects for the modeling and development of complex interactivesystems.
With over 100 publications in scientific journals, book chapters, and conference papers, Professor Rybarczyk is also an editor for renowned journals such as Frontiers in Big Data. His pioneering research in the development of machine learning algorithms for predicting air quality is widelyrecognized.
During the lecture, Professor Rybarczyk provided an in-depth discussion on how machine learning techniques are applied to air quality prediction, covering key aspects such as data collection, model construction, and algorithm optimization. He shared his research findings and practical application cases, offering valuable academic insights and inspiring in-depth thinking about the intersection of environmental science and artificial intelligence among theattendees.
Following the lecture, Professor Rybarczyk engaged in extensive discussions with faculty and students, expressing positive recognition for the School's research in the interdisciplinary field of environmental science and artificial intelligence, and encouraging students to explore this areafurther.
Professor Yves Rybarczyk's lecture brought an international perspective to the faculty and students of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, fostering the exchange and collision of academic ideas. The School will continue to organize such high-level academic events to promote interdisciplinary integration and cultivate innovative talents with internationalcompetitiveness.
